The following is important information for the course. You can download it here.
Weekly Time Commitment
New content is released weekly through posts on Campus. We encourage you to engage with the course material regularly.
Here is what you can expect:
| Activity | Time |
|---|---|
| Online Learning Material | 2 - 3 hours per week |
| Online Quiz | 0,5 hour per week |
| Assignment | 1 hour per week |
| Class Calls and Working Groups | 1 hour every 2 weeks |
You should schedule regular times each week to dedicate to the course. We recommend setting aside some time each day to engage with the learning material.
Since this is an interactive, peer learning course, it is important that you keep up the same pace as your classmates. We encourage you to engage in activities, respond to the reflection questions, and contribute to the discussion forums.
Minimum Academic Performance
Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) reserves the right to remove participants during the running of the course who have not met or kept up with the minimum academic performance requirements.
Minimum academic requirements:
- Participants must log on before the end of Week 2.
- Participants must earn points before the end of Week 3.
Failure to achieve these requirements will result in the participant having their access to the course removed.
Deadline for Earning Points
- Points can be earned for tasks up until 21 days after the post has been published or up until the last week of the course.
- Please ensure that you have earned all the points you need as a minimum to pass the course, and share your thoughts with the class by this date.
- There are no exceptions or exemptions that can be made to this final closing date.
Honor Code
Academic integrity is a core value of DFI and its institutional partners. Your commitment to honesty and ethical conduct reflects respect for your own learning and for your peers.
Participants are expected to make the most of this learning opportunity and demonstrate the integrity and professionalism required for roles of responsibility and trust. This course operates under an Honor Code, which means you are trusted to uphold high standards of honesty in all academic activities—without constant supervision.
We expect all participants to engage with honesty, respect, and professionalism. By joining Class Calls or posting comments, you agree to uphold our Honor Code — let’s create a respectful, collaborative, and thriving learning community.
Use of AI Tools
While AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, translation software, or other digital assistants) may support your learning, their use must be transparent and responsible. You are expected to critically engage with the course material and ensure that any assistance from AI tools is properly acknowledged. Submissions should reflect your own understanding and original thought.
Plagiarism
Using someone else’s words, ideas or work without proper attribution is strictly prohibited. This includes content from published sources, peers, instructors and AI-generated material. Always cite your sources and seek guidance if you're unsure about proper attribution.
Deferment policy
If you find that you are no longer able to participate in the course due to your other commitments, you may defer from the course. This means that you will actively and voluntarily withdraw from the course. You can then re-apply for the following intake/cohort.
Important:
- If you defer, you will not be automatically enrolled for the next intake. You will need to re-apply to be enrolled.
- Deferment may only occur up to the end of Week 3. After this time, you will no longer be allowed to defer. If you are then unable to complete the course due to other commitments, you will unfortunately be marked as having failed.
- If you would like to request a deferment, please reach out either to your Course Facilitator or to admissions@digitalfrontiersinstitute.org before the end of Week 3.
